WWE RAW is WAR

WWE
What a first hour to Monday Night RAW last night, possibly the best first hour the show has had in about five years, I can definitely say for me it was the best first hour since I started watching again three years ago.

Starting off with a Triple Threat for the number one contendership for the WWE Championship of the World, it could have done with more hype if I'm looking to be critical, I didn't know it was going to happen until RAW started, still though, possibly TV match of the year, after being involved in an 8 man Ladder match the night before you'd forgive Chris Jericho, Randy Orton and Edge if they phoned it in but they gave it their all, and we got a good 25 minute match to start off RAW, The WWE get criticised for not having enough Wrestling on show but they where spot on this week.

Randy Orton got the pinfall and the sequence leading up to it was very well done, Jericho got nailed with an RKO and Edge got caught with one, pinning Edge was the right thing to do here, it settles a score as well as proving Orton is the number 1 contender.

Edge stays in the ring and is going crazy on the Mic, this is one thing I think Edge does brilliantly, he has such intensity in his promos, you can buy into them, I always feel he tries to say to much but the aggression and pent up frustration in his voice when he is on form usually makes up for it.

He and Jericho are fighting over who call the shots for Nexus, this is slightly predictable, I could see this coming, Nexus come to the ring and bash Edge about, you could see a mile off what was going to happen next, they turned on Jericho, the Nexus beat downs are brilliant though, they look so vicious, like a proper beat down, it makes for uncomfortable viewing which in turn means they are doing their jobs well.

John Cena has a promo backstage, very low key, you can tell Cena learned his acting prowess from repeats of TJ Hooker, he looks glum, the WWE Kitman put his favourite Orange T-Shirt in the wash with his old blue one, he isn't happy, apparently he tells us "If you cant beat them...." then walks off camera, one can only assume If you can't beat them then walk off camera and chill the "Fornicate" out backstage, anyway, he wanted a meeting with Nexus, teasing a possible heel turn, nice.

Just incase the crowd where in danger of marking out completely they got the heart rate down with a Diva match, this nonsense could depress Skippy but still, why keep a crowd hot as hell? that's crazy thinking right there.

The ref botched for Maryse to lose (it was a worked Botch) DiBiase isn't happy, he is in the ring ready to knock the ref out, Morrison comes from nowhere to make the save, this guy needs a new finisher ASAP, he nearly broke his own neck yet again by missing the SSP by absolute miles, crowd was pumped for Morrison though to be fair to him.

Sheamus coming out for his promo time was alright, he has made a deal with Nexus, why Nexus wouldn't want to destroy the WWE Champion is beyond me, anyway The Miz interrupts and absolutely owns Sheamus with his promo, Miz tells him he can cash it in anytime and he will be his "Celebrity Stalker" until he decides to cash it in, he sits ringside for the Sheamus/Bourne match.

Sheamus got a win, The Miz came in and attacked him, nailed him with the briefcase (which actually looks like Mark Henrys lunchbox) and Sheamus takes a sick looking facebump to said lunchbox erm Briefcase when Miz hits him with the "Skull-Crushing Finale" but since he is too out of it R-Truth makes the save before Miz can cash in.

Wade Barrett/Mark Henry was a good match, this is exactly how Henry should be booked, he dominated proceedings but Nexus grabbed his attention and Wade Barrett looked like he near on killed him with "Wasteland"

Nexus come out and Michael Tarver cuts a promo on Cena, this guy is cool as ice, the WWE version of Samuel L Jackson, Cena comes out, tries to make peace with Nexus and Barrett offers him a place in the group, Cena says no and Barrett tells him to walk away before he gets killed, Cena dejected as ever walks before calling out his 6 reinforcements and announcing a 7 vs 7 match for SummerSlam.

Edge is the first out to a huge pop, then John Morrison and R-Turth, then Chris Jericho to another huge pop, then its the Great Khali, thats straight out of left field, no need for him at all, and finally the 7th member Bret Hart, that was a letdown, I was expecting HHH or Danielson, still though, RAW attack, Nexus run away and Jericho was looking every bit the uber face he has been in the past.

Very good fast paced Monday Night RAW last night!

They are definitely building SummerSlam up big time, there has been talk that Vince wants to give it a WrestleMania feel to it, well its been a while since SummerSlam has felt so important.

Two massive RAW matches where set up with plenty of time now for anticipation to build!

Whats your thoughts on last nights Monday Night RAW?
